At an early stage in my working life I chose to pursue a career in Human Resources and became professionally qualified in this field in 1984. For 16 years I worked for various organisations as Personnel Manager in a generalist role which covered the whole spectrum of employee related issues.
In 2001 I saw an opportunity to set up my own HR Consultancy business which I ran successfully as a Limited Company until 2016. In this role I had two types of clients; the majority were small owner managed businesses typically employing less than 100 employees. I would advise them on all matters from recruitment, employee/performance management, pay structures, business restructuring and sadly, redundancy and closure in some cases.
